Our Journey

It started with a mere thought that turned into an ambition to change the way education is perceived in our country. While working with the educational sector, we came to a realization that the right amount of effort was not being put into the fundamentals of the field of research and technology. This led to the start of ‘Shodh Yatra’, a joint initiative with Mr. Anirudha Gadgil. But this initiative made another revelation that the younger generation is not very keen with the Research & Development sector and our educational structure is not complementary for the same. A child’s mentality paves the way for their career hence we believe a researcher's mentality should be imbibed into children from a young age.

We then introduced ‘Aanklipi’, an app to induce formulated ways of thinking in students. It had tables of whole numbers & fractions. Considering the current memory pattern of the kids we decided to compose them musically for easy memorizing & assimilation. And behold, the first stage of Aanknaad was born. Aanknaad promotes assimilation i.e. meaningful learning over rote learning for a deeper understanding of mathematics and to ensure it’s not repetitive or boring and stay with students for life.

It was difficult to record complete set of tables and everyone around us thought it was an absurd concept. But with the help of a close acquaintance, Mr. Gangal, a ticket checker on Daund Express Train, we got our hands on all the material available. My dear wife, a very talented ‘Sangeet Visharad’, accepted the challenge of adding the right musicality and tonality to the tables. With the help of Mr. Sanjay Deshpande we successfully recorded the final cut.

Today’s generation is quite tech savvy so we knew the app had to be mobile friendly so that it could reach maximum students in minimum time. With the cooperation of ‘Splender Net Technologies’, we designed 12 applications for 12 files. In April 2016, we decided to inaugurate the app by the hands of well respected people of our community, Dr. Anil Sahastrabuddhe, Mr. P.G. Shejvalkar Sir & Dr. Deepak Tilak in a wonderful ceremony at the library above Lokmanya Tilak’s (One of the greatest mathematician) statue at Tilak Vaada.

Post the launch, our main aim was to provide maximum app benefits for students all across the country. But due to lack of mobiles & connectivity, the encoded MP3 Player came into the picture. We were able to do a trial run in more than 750 schools across Maharashtra with the help of Mr. Vinod Tawade (Education Minister).

Everyone understood the importance of the product however it wasn’t included in the school syllabus so we had to devote ourselves to get it approved by the Government. Medha Kulkarni (Education Committee of Pune Corporation) recommended our system in 242 schools & supported us. There were quite a few warnings about this project but my colleague, Mr. Anirudha Gadgil pushed me to pursue my dream. That’s when Mr. Parag Gadgil (Director of PNG brand & successful entrepreneur) decided to invest into our business after evaluating both product & people involved & MAAP EPIC Communications Pvt. Ltd. was born in 2018. We have this mentality in India that if any form of education is not mentioned in the school textbooks, it does not hold importance. So with the help of Mr. Anil Gore, we took a different approach. Mr. Subhash Desai (Cabinet Minister of Industries) permitted us to start the first ever Table reciting competition in 2020 in Maharashtra.

Dr Raghunath Mashelkar Sir (Fellow to PM for Innovation in India) described us as an Innovation in Education. This is a great blessing as well as a huge responsibility. That is when we were certain to take this system to all the kids/ students around the globe.
