Concept:

  • • MAAP EPIC Communication & Sawarkar Adhyasan Kendra decided to take a visionary initiative to take this activity with the students who are the future of India.
  • • We are working in line with our national vision of Make in India which disseminates foster inventions enhances skill development, protects intellectual property & builds it best.
  • • In a way “Vidnyan Akhyan” gives students a scientific approach to their thought process.
  • • These efforts can be replicated everywhere in the district, state, and at the national level, with association and participation with various entities with the same vision & mission

Reference:

Discovery is the journey from the origin of an irrational thing & to usefulness is research. It is just not limited to "need is the mother of invention", it takes a researcher to the roots to find something other than need.

Nowadays the science which was studied by our sages, comes wrapped as Western inventions. Thus an independent approach to science and technology is the need of the time.

In the existing teaching, method, science is taught is only through theories, but lacks scientific vision. Thus efforts from all levels are needed to increase children interest in science.


Project:

Vidnyan Akhyan Let's find, experience and share Discover the Journey From the play, Visiting a topic that seems difficult will be very interesting such!!!!!

  • • Its need of time that such great deliverances should disseminate in society the way we have disseminated the history, considering the same our organization has decided to undertake this initiative. And it will also be fruitful with government supports
  • • New discoveries, research, scientists, thoughts in their discoveries and their experiences through Science Drama is “Vidnyan Akhyan”.
  • • In a way “Vidnyan Akhyan” gives students a scientific approach to their thought process.
  • • Every effort needs to be made to inculcate in the children an interest in science and technology and to change their attitude towards the curriculum accordingly.


Process: Scripting the invention:

  • • Scripting of such plays is an amiable great experience altogether itself.  science drama needed a envision to understand, elaborate, & perform the inventions dramatically.
  • • The major challenge is choosing the inventions used in daily life commonly, get an available material & scripting it.
  • • In process of scripting, it is needed to understand the geographical location, the period, living conditions, and social circumstances & the correct point. Also, the incident which was provoked the scientist to invent a particular invention.


Following are the inventions are chosen for scripting:

  • 1. Fountain Pen – It was invented when Louise Watermen lost his deal only because of a quill pen that broke while signing the contract paper.
  • 2. Stethoscope - Dr. Laennec invented the stethoscope because he was not comfortable placing his ear directly onto a woman's chest to listen to her heart. He observed that a rolled piece of parchment paper, placed between the individual's chest and his ear, could amplify heart sounds without requiring physical contact
  • 3.Pincode - The PIN code was first introduced on 15th August 1972 by Shriram Bhikaji who was the then Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Communications. A new system was felt required to simply the process of manual sorting and delivery of mails.
  • 4. Safety pin - Hunt made the invention to pay off a $15 debt to a friend. He used a piece of brass wire that was about 8 inches (200 mm) long and made a coil in the centre of the wire so it would open when released. The clasp at one end was devised to shield the sharp edge from the user.
  • 5. Playdough - Playdough was invented by accident. In the 1930s, Noah McVicker worked for his family's soap company. It was called Kutol Products. There, he made a new kind of wallpaper cleaner

  • Drama Workshop:
    • • Though Drama is a creative & regular activity that can be achieved with little practice and performance of artists, how we can achieve this? As a fact if we start working with children with little effort and time, they can be the ambassadors of this initiative, which leads them to think scientifically.
    • • We announced the 1-month Science drama workshop where, the participants will learn different things, right from acting, direction, script writing, how to perform plays with minimum resources, music, drama set & property designing.
    • • They will also seek guidance from well-known personalities of society on various aspects of drama and other subjects like science, innovation, Scientist & inventions.
  • • In this workshop we would like to achieve that, participants will start thinking like progressiveness of their personality & it will help them to choose their career.
  • • We have arranged instructors who helped them to learn about drama & science.
  • • We had organized a press conference to reach out to housing societies and other society-based organizations appealing for the presentation of these plays in their premises with the assurance that we would not be charged for these performances.
  • • these presentations can be performed by our students in various city-based schools or schools can perform on their own with scripts written in workshops.

  • Outcome:

    To check the initial status of participants we have mapped the performance by external evaluators on the first day of the Workshop on following 10 points

    • After completion of the workshop & during presentations, we again evaluated the same 50 participants on the same points. We found that they have improved their strata of exploring, understanding and assessing things.
